Encouraging Reading

Building literacy, one brick at a time.

What is BRICK?

BRICK is a student-led non-profit organization that stands for Book Reading Incentive Confectionary Kitchen. A branch of BRICK, in collaboration with schools or afterschool clubs, gives kids the opportunity to read a book within a deadline in exchange for a cupcake or other baked good, made by the BRICK volunteers.

This encourages reading in kids, and is a fun experience for volunteers!

If you think elementary school kids wouldn't take that deal, you need to interact with more 8-year-olds, or check our FAQ.
